The 37th Fajr International Theater Festival has announced the lineup of A-list artists to be honored at latest run.
According to the public relations office of the festival, a commemoration ceremony is to be held for Houshang Tavakkoli, Reza Babak and Roya Teymourian, and playwright Mohammad-Amir Yarahmadi; and the artists will be honored with lifetime achievement awards.
Tavakkoli might be remembered by ifilmers for his role in ‘Shokraneh’, ‘Under the Blade’, ‘Gharib’s World’, ‘Gradual Death of a Dream’ and ‘Mirza Koochack Khan’.
He has also played roles in several movies such as ‘Under the Smoky Roof’ by Pouran Derakhshandeh and the acclaimed drama ‘Dressage’ by Pouya Badkoubeh.
What made Reza Babak a household name was the drama 'Ziba Barbershop' (1990).
His other films and series include 'Primrose Flower', 'The Sunny Man', 'The Purple', 'Night Path', 'Gharib's World', 'Invitation', 'The Safe' and 'Special Guests'.
While Roya Teymourian has mostly acted in plays, her performance in the movie 'Rain Man' brought her nod for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at both the International Fajr Film Festival and the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards.
‘Saint Mary’, ‘Reyhaneh’, ‘The Tenth Night’, ‘As Blue as the Sea’, ‘Zero Degree Turn’ and ‘Edge of Darkness’ are only a few series by which ifilm viewers remember Roya.
Yarahmadi as playwright has written and collected more than 100 long and short plays for radio, including ‘Old Blade’, ‘Charlotte’, ‘Last Night of the World’ and ‘Let Us Take a Walk Together’.
The 37th Fajr International Theater Festival will be held in Tehran from February 11 to 23, 2019.
